I am Danielle Oates, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor- Associate, advocate and business owner. In 2013, I formally entered the Human Services industry working in various arenas such as domestic violence and sexual assault, crisis intervention, parent advocacy for children with special needs, servicing the elderly population as well as servicing adults and children with eating disorders. I have an associate and bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in mental health counseling with an emphasis in trauma and addiction. I believe it is the responsibility of each person to stretch and reach many people in order to pay it forward personally and professionally.
In 2020, I launched Advocacy & Consulting Solutions, LLC placing myself in charge of combating hurdles and rallying results for my clients. I specialize in finding coping skills and techniques for anger management, behavior and mood disorders, depression, relational conflict and trauma allowing individuals to lead a healthier lifestyle. I practice evidence based modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Conflict Resolution Therapy.
I have obtained certification and training on parent advocacy for children with special needs from The Federation of Children with Special Needs in Boston, MA. I have worked in clinical counseling as part of the crisis intervention team for the YWCA for many years and currently serves as a outpatient therapist for a community mental health agency. My objective is to build trust, integrity and a therapeutic connection to begin working towards changing the thoughts, behaviors or challenges in a person’s life.
