Description
I’m Danielle, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to creating a warm and compassionate space for adults, teens, and couples. My passion is helping clients gain self-awareness, connect with truth, and heal. In therapy, I strive to foster curiosity, challenge unhealthy patterns, and highlight strengths—so that each person feels truly seen and heard. I aim to help clients cultivate compassion, embrace growth, and step into their most authentic selves.
As a Black woman who has navigated the complexities of being bicultural—specifically Ghanaian-American—I understand the challenges of finding belonging and breaking free from patterns like people-pleasing. My own journey of self-discovery—learning to challenge internalized messages, stay grounded in my values, and embrace differentiation—deepens my empathy and informs my work. I hope to support my clients in finding clarity, confidence, and self-acceptance on their own journeys.
My work is rooted in a systemic perspective, recognizing how family, culture, and environment shape our sense of self. I integrate Narrative Therapy to help clients explore these influences, quiet their inner critic, and process deep-seated beliefs. I also help couples prioritize connection over the need to be right. Drawing from Relational Life Therapy.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a Master’s in Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy creative pursuits, walks with my dog, thrifting, and competitive rounds of Bananagrams. And when I need a good laugh, I’m probably rewatching New Girl—again.
