Description
I am an African American cisgender woman whose personal experience informs what happens in the therapy room. I hold a foundational belief that personal, cultural, and societal narratives can shape, adversely or positively, who we are and what we believe we can achieve. Together, we can confront the key questions of ‘who wrote your narrative?’ and ‘how can I help you author it going forward?’
I use an eclectic approach to counseling including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, relational, and psychoanalytic theories. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Ackerman Relational Approach to help couples, families and individuals navigate life’s provocations. Finally, I am an avid gamer - video, tabletop games, and RPGs. I employ my knowledge of “Geek Culture” as both a mindset and a model which values change and flexibility.
