I have been a professional counselor/therapist for over fifteen years and I am passionate about empowering African American clients and helping them to overcome difficulties using a strengths-based focus. The strategies that I use are judgment-free and tailored to clients’ specific needs.
I have specialized expertise in culturally informed psychotherapy/counseling and psychoeducation for women, couples, families, and members of marginalized groups. My training – in both Counseling (MS & EdS) and Marriage & Family Therapy (PhD) – makes me uniquely qualified to address a myriad of individual and relational issues using evidence-based methods that increase insight and help bring about desired changes.
I also address identity-related issues such as gender, race, relationship status, SES, and sexuality. Social justice concerns are processed when appropriate.
