Description

I’m Charmaine, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and I specialize in teaching healthy coping skills. Navigating life well requires us to build a healthy toolbox of skills that we can tap into when we experience trauma, stress, and life transitions. We can work together if…

-You’re someone who has a difficult time dealing with change in your life

-You feel stuck in a rut or feel like you can’t move forward no matter what you do

-You often feel alone, isolated, disconnected, or even different from others

-You’re someone who has a hard time finding, and using, tools and skills that do not worsen the pain you feel inside

-You often feel numb, or feel like you are cut off from your own feelings

-You experience urges to harm yourself

-You feel the need to hurt yourself physically to ease the pain you feel inside your mind and body

-You’re someone who, at times, is afraid to step outside of your comfort zone or feel unsure of how to manage new risks in your life

-You’re a West Indian-American or Caribbean American trying to learn how to adjust to, and navigate through life, in the United States

-You're someone who has recently been diagnosed with, or are going through treatment for, cancer,

If you experience one of these, or a number of these intersections, then, I’d love to partner with you to help you through these feelings and experiences. Along with being a Licensed and Nationally Certified Therapist, I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with 10+ years of clinical experience. In my practice, I facilitate a safe, open, relaxing, and supportive environment that allows you to be who you are in the fullness of all your emotions.

Group Therapy Details

We currently have 3 group offerings:

We are currently launching a breast cancer process group for women who have been recently diagnosed with, and who may be in treatment, and need a space to process their emotional experiences.

We will also be launching a 6-week group, "Anxiety and Depression in Black women," that deals with frequently overlooked signs of these mental health conditions in Black women.

Our third group which is currently on break, is a support group for parents who have teens that engage in self-harming behaviors. This is an educational group that is meant to equip parents with tools to help them care for themselves and their teens.
