Description

It takes incredible strength to show up in a world that often tells you you're both too much and not enough. That messaging is not only unfair but harmful when it takes root within you. At our practice, we are committed to creating an affirming environment to help you unpack, challenge, and dismantle those narratives. You deserve to live free of those burdens, standing fully in your worth and power. Our goal is to provide a space where you feel empowered to embrace your authentic self, honor your journey, and focus on your personal growth. You deserve this kind of support.

As a clinical therapist, author, educator and supervisor, I have seen how important comfort and connection are to the therapeutic process. Feeling judged, misunderstood, marginalized and minimized are themes that, if present, will impede progress. Bringing this awareness into each session, along with 20+ years of experience and extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Sex Therapy, informs the way we approach therapy and the privilege of supporting you.

We deeply value the work we do at this practice and recognize the immense courage it takes for clients to engage in self-exploration. Opening up about trauma, self-destructive patterns, negative thoughts, sexuality or feelings of shame and guilt is never easy. That’s why we are committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space where you can begin to feel empowered and gain control over life’s challenges. Our approach is holistic and culturally responsive, making room for open conversations about any and everything that is impacting you. We strive to provide thoughtful and sensitive care for individuals, couples, and groups, honoring your unique journey every step of the way.

Group Therapy Details

We are currently screening participants for Monarch Group for Black Women Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and Overcoming Social Anxiety with CBT Skills.

Monarch Group was created with Black Women in mind and heart. The unique experiences, demands, roles, burdens, expectations and the objectification and sexualization of the Black Girl/ Woman in The United States of American makes this particular trauma complex and often ignored. We wanted to design a space for our Queens where you can hold court, feel supported, be understood and be celebrated without fear of judgment, stereotyping or gaslighting. You are the Monarch of your life. Together we can work on rebuilding so you can enjoy your empire.

Overcoming Social Anxiety with CBT Skills group is for those looking to overcome the impact of social anxiety. As the Brooklyn clinic for the National Social Anxiety Center we are dedicated to providing warm, supportive and effective treatment for those struggling with social anxiety.

Our cognitive-behavioral therapy skills group will provide you with psychoeducation and evidence-based skills to reduce the overwhelming effects of social anxiety. This eight-week group will take you through the critical steps of cognitive challenging, reframing and refocusing in order to overcome negative thoughts patterns.
