Bloom Psychotherapy Center provides a safe space for women who are experiencing Depression and Anxiety related to life altering experiences or medical conditions such as: Infertility, Miscarriage, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD), Birth Trauma, HIV/AIDS, STD, Diabetes, Renal Disease and Post Abortion. Over the years, I have worked as a social worker to help women through difficult life changing experiences by providing support and connecting them to resources. I witnessed how certain stressful events have long lasting effects on a persons’ sense of who they are and their emotional responses. For example, your trauma may lead you to believe you are "not enough," "weak" or "dumb." Then when you have experiences that trigger that belief you respond with anger, fear or sadness. As a therapist trained in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I can help you safely revisit those messages and traumatic experiences, process them and release the hold that they have on you. Even if those feelings and beliefs come up while you are trying to conceive, pregnant, or during the postpartum period. I can help you safely process those experiences. Dealing with infertility or maternal mental health challenges can make you feel alone and unsupported. Having a therapist who is trained in perinatal mental health can make a difference in how you recover and heal from these challenges. As a certified Perinatal Mental Health professional (PMH-C) I have learned to help women out of depression and anxiety as they embark on their journey towards motherhood and beyond. I understand each journey is personal so you can expect individualized and compassionate therapy to address your unique needs.
