Description
As Black Women, sometimes we have deep unspoken emotional wounds. Depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, shame, and/or everyday stressors, can shadow our ability to live a fulling life. My goal is to guide your journey towards healing, and empower you to recognize the power that already exists within. I take great responsibility in creating a safe space where you can be vulnerable and authentic. In our space together, you can let your hair down. My work focuses on building emotional tolerance, developing effective coping strategies, processing any unresolved emotions, and identifying thoughts or behaviors that have become ineffective. My therapy approach can be described as strengths-focused, affirming, and genuine.
I use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma processing. I am also trained to use EMDR-ASSYST© for acute stress and EMDR-PRECI© for ongoing trauma.
My other therapeutic interventions include but are not limited to: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-based Therapy.
