Description

Hi! I’m Brianne. I am a humanist, social justice-oriented therapist invested in helping others heal and grow. I work with adults struggling with attachment and intimacy, dating and relationships, meaning and purpose, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, or general existential dread. I especially enjoy working with the marginalized, misfits, outcasts, or anyone who feels like one.

I am a humanist which means that I believe that humans are innately good, deserving of empathy, and possess the power to heal and grow. My counseling approach focuses on helping clients to identify their emotions and feel their feelings without shame. I aspire to help clients to embrace vulnerability and authenticity in an emotionally supportive environment so they can create the meaning, connection, and joy they desire in their lives.

My theoretical approach is rooted in liberatory justice frameworks and incorporates techniques from emotionally focused therapy and existential therapy, among others. I believe that one of the most important factors in therapy is the therapeutic relationship, so my focus is on building a strong relationship with my clients and utilizing techniques based on individual client needs.

I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in sociology at Rice University and my master’s in counseling with a concentration in queer affirmative therapy at Southern Methodist University.

In my leisure time, I enjoy building my community of friends, spending time with family, organizing, watching movies, and trying local restaurants.

I am currently accepting clients in-person and via telehealth. I know how difficult it can be to find a therapist you feel comfortable with, especially when you feel vulnerable and uncertain. If my profile resonates with you, I invite you to reach out to schedule a video consultation to help determine if we are a good fit. I wish you well on your healing journey.
