Description

I strongly believe that human growth requires non-judgment, authenticity, and the willingness to face one's challenges head on. It is a deep passion of mine to foster a space that welcomes vulnerability and self-compassion. I believe that none of us can go through our life's journey alone. In our therapeutic relationship, it is my hope that you will never feel alone on your own path through healing. I aspire to offer guidance as clients work to acknowledge their individual strengths as well as positives within their lives in order to achieve their personal goals. My therapeutic style encompasses humanistic, psychodynamic, and strengths-based approaches. In addition, I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy techniques.

I have experience working in various environments including residential treatment facilities, transitional housing facilities, behavioral health hospitals, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming, and private practice. I have collaborated with clients ranging from adolescents to older adults for individual, couples, group and family counseling. I have worked with individuals struggling with mood, anxiety, substance use, attention deficit, and eating disorders as well as social inequality. As a black woman myself, my GREATEST passion is supporting other black women as I believe it is such an important and necessary work!

A little about me: I value consistently having a little fun in my day to day life. In my freetime I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, traveling, dancing, meditating, going to concerts and other events, capturing moments through photography, and cuddling my little yorkie!

Group Therapy Details

Black Women Exhale (BWE) is a process group centered on black women and their experiences. This group will give 8 black women a nonjudgmental, empathic, and relatable space to share their thoughts and feelings as they navigate their worlds. My goal is for BWE to be a space where black women can just exhale and be. Please see the details below.
When: October 3rd- December 2nd 2023. We will meet every Tuesday at 8:15pm for 8 weeks.
Where: This will be a virtual group held on zoom. Members must live in Illinois. The last group on December 2nd will be in person with virtual opportunity.
How: This is a 1hr long closed group-meaning that once the 8 members have committed to the group, no additional members will be able to attend this round of the group. If you are unable to attend one or more of the group sessions, you are able to just purchase the sessions that you are able to attend. It is strongly recommended that no more than three group sessions are missed in order to maintain the safe space and consistency within the group.
Cost: This group will be $33 per session. It will be held every week for 8 weeks equaling out to $264 for the total Black Women Exhale segment. Full payment before the series begins is preferred. Payment plans can be arranged i.e. weekly, half and half etc. Our goal is to not allow finances to be a barrier for participation in this group.
WE DO HAVE AN EARLY BIRD SPECIAL OF $28 PER SESSION IF RESERVED BY 09/20.
