I work with adults and adolescents (16-30 years old) who have experiences with sadness, uncontrollable worry, difficulty concentrating, negative thoughts, immigrant and cultural experiences, irritability, difficulty adjusting to life transitions, longstanding shame, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, frequent discontent, feeling undeserving or inadequate, difficulty concentrating, family of origin trauma and more. I use developmentally appropriate techniques to help each client identify negative or restricting feelings and the connected triggers by developing coping skills to resolve undesired thoughts, behavioral and emotional patterns.

I support clients in identifying, implementing and adapting culturally appropriate skills, strategies and interventions that can be utilized effectively in real-life situations. While I teach self-compassion and validate my clients thoughts, experiences and feelings, I challenge my clients to break unproductive and stress inducing thought and behavioral patterns in order to produce positive outcomes.

With warmth, humor and a direct style, I help individuals find their own strengths, understand their challenges with compassion, and use this knowledge to improve behaviors, mood, cognition, school, career, relationships and daily activities.

I received my I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, and earned a Master's of Social Work from George Mason University.
