Being a Black woman means you have to be strong whether — for your family, your community, or your friends. At some point, that stops being resilience and starts being exhausting. Therapy is where you get to stop performing.

I grew up in the Bronx as the youngest of five — which means I learned early how to read a room, hold space for other people's pain, and find my footing in the middle of noise. That instinct carried me into seven years of military service, where I worked as a suicide prevention counselor, sexual assault advocate, and division counselor. I sat with people in some of their most impossible moments. That experience didn't make me unshakeable — it made me real about what it actually takes to get through something.

I bring three graduate degrees to my clinical work: a Master's in Forensic Psychology, a Master's in Autism Education, and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. That combination is unusual on purpose. It means I understand how systems — legal, educational, military — shape the people who move through them. And it means I work especially well with Black women who feel like they don't quite fit the standard frame: those navigating trauma, carrying invisible weight, or holding identities that others have struggled to hold.

You won't have to explain why certain things hit different, or justify why you're still affected by something that happened years ago. You will be expected to do real work. But you'll do it with someone who already understands the weight you walked in with.

I accept several major insurance plans and offer both in-person sessions in Midtown Manhattan and telehealth across New York State. If any of this resonates, reach out. The first step is just a conversation.
