Description

If you are seeking support, clarity, and growth, I welcome and commend you for making time and space for therapy in your life! When investing in your overall health, it is vital to find a professional who you believe is equally invested in you. That is the first step in creating a therapeutic relationship that is headed for optimal healing. I aim to provide a space where you can be vulnerable without judgment and to cultivate an authentic relationship with you that promotes deeper awareness and a sense of agency in identifying and realizing your goals.

Whether you need help with managing life transitions, figuring out how to be your authentic self, or learning new coping skills for challenging times, I will aim to meet you where you are on your life’s journey. I take a holistic approach to my work that honors your unique personality, perspective, and experiences, while also supporting new ways of understanding, thinking, and being. The cognitive-behavioral framework (which is more action-oriented) is my main approach, but I understand that no one modality fits all. With that in mind, I will be responsive to meet your needs.

Though I have counseled individuals from all walks of life, I am especially interested in supporting the lives of Black and Brown men and women, and those a part of the LBGTQIA+. Your race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status can all have an enormous impact on how you navigate life, and it is important to explore and connect those elements. My goal is to work with you to identify and use your strengths to respond to challenges in a healthy way.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. John’s University. I am trained to support individuals with stress and anxiety, mood disturbances, substance abuse problems, and grief.

My services may be insurance reimbursable with out-of-network assistance; please check with your provider. I also take your financial situation into account when setting a sliding-scale fee. I will work with you to make services affordable.
