Description
I am a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) with Independent Practice. I have a passion for supporting others and I am committed to helping individuals achieve their full potential and enhance their quality of life. I utilize an eclectic style of therapy, integrating various treatment modalities to match your needs and preferences. I love incorporating art, music, and play into more traditional therapy. I believe in developing a strong therapeutic relationship in order to work collaboratively with you to achieve your personal goals. My primary focus is working with youth (ages 7 to 25) to address interpersonal, emotional (e.g., depression, anger, anxiety), and behavioral concerns (e.g., conduct problems, oppositional behaviors, ADHD).
I have worked in a variety of clinical outpatient settings, including individual, family, & group therapy; intensive in-home services; and adult community support services. I completed my internship in the Intensive Outpatient Program at Carolinas Medical Center.
I also conduct psychological evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults. I am qualified and experienced in intellectual and personality assessment and tests of academic achievement. I use psychological assessment for diagnostic clarification, level of care determinations, and providing other therapeutic and/or academic recommendations.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston in 2003, after which I focused on research studying the effects of domestic violence on children. I obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2009, where my focus was on evaluating the effectiveness of Systems of Care for children with severe emotional and behavioral concerns.
