Benita is a counselor at Elevation Individual and Family Therapy. She is a licensed mental health counselor associate practicing in the state of Indiana. Benita graduated with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She has been providing a combination of behavioral health and mental health services for 6 plus years. Benita enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and couples.
Areas of treatment include depression, anxiety, substance abuse, behavioral issues, trauma and much more. During her free time, Benita enjoys spending time with family, cooking and binge watching her favorite tv series.
Benita prides herself in being able to adapt to the needs of each client or family she serves. She is a strength based, solution focused clinician who also uses cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques. Her main focus is to strengthen the client and counselor relationship and to assist her clients in making the changes they want to see in their lives. She believes that as long as her clients have the right tools and a willingness and desire to create change, then the possibilities are endless.
