Description

As an inclusive and affirming clinician, I partner with clients to identify strengths and address barriers to achieving their goals and develop a path towards healing and overall wellness. I use an empowerment-based holistic approach that is informed by Cognitive Behavioral, Somatic, Psychodynamic, and Humanistic therapies.

I have extensive experience working with people who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress. I work with individuals and couples of every gender expression and sexual orientation, with a focus on entertainment industry workers. I am passionate about social justice and incorporate an anti-oppression, body liberation, and PIC (Prison Industrial Complex) abolitionist lens into my work, particularly in supporting Black, Indigenous, and people of color with issues of identity, racial & sexual trauma, eating disorders, veganism & eco-anxiety, and interpersonal struggles. My practice is poly, kink, neurodiversity, and LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Group Therapy Details

EmpowerHer is a nurturing sanctuary tailored for women who have survived sexual trauma. Guided by Ashley Merriman, LCSW, this group offers a supportive environment where survivors can embark on their healing journey. Through a blend of psychoeducation, identity exploration, and empathetic sharing, participants will gain insights into trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and avenues for self-care. Through discussions with other survivors, participants can gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, a sense of belonging, and the tools necessary for healing. Although specific times are yet to be determined, the group will be weekly on either Tuesday evenings or Sunday afternoons.
