Life is difficult. Experiencing overwhelming feelings of sadness, worry, and isolation is cumbersome. I would like to help you learn how to find ways to cope with life's stressors and negative emotional states while increasing your feeling of being connected. Counseling can be a wonderful resource in speaking to someone who supports you and is unbiased in their feedback and suggestions. The purpose of counseling is not just to feel good when you leave, but to feel as though you have the insight and tools you need to improve your life. I will help you do just that.
For the past 5 years, I have provided therapy to women struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and mental health diagnoses. I use motivational interviewing, CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, and DBT. I am knowledgeable about the impact of trauma, and the special needs of those who have experienced trauma.
Every human being deserves dignity, respect and the ability to live their life to their fullest potential. I recognize the societal barriers many people face in accessing good quality mental health services. My practice is a safe place for oppressed and marginalized people.
