Hi there! My name is Dr. Ariel Lewis. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. Since beginning my clinical work in 2013, I have had the pleasure of partnering with countless clients, all at different stages of their individual healing journey.
I specialize in supporting women of color as they navigate various concerns including anxiety, grief, interpersonal issues, pregnancy/motherhood-related concerns, workplace stress, race-based trauma, and the day-to-day challenges of life, with special attention given to the context that surrounds each individual.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered in nature. This means that therapy will be tailored to your specific needs. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all! You are the expert on your life. You live it every day. My role is that of a teammate collaborating with you to implement change in your life. I look forward to getting to know you soon.

Shades of Insight Therapy, LLC was created by our Founder, Dr. Ariel Lewis, in response to a perceived need for more counseling options for women of color. Our services are geared toward WOC who are striving for more in their lives, but recognize that they could benefit from some support. Maybe you’re navigating the stresses of higher education. Perhaps you’re a professional woman trying to establish balance in your life. Maybe you are facing one or more major transitions in life— starting/ending a relationship, career changes, starting a family.
