As a holistic wellness counselor, I view each of my clients as a “whole”. Which means that I take time to understand how their cultural background, physical health, work/vocation, finances, environment, spirituality, sexuality, and social needs impact their mental wellness.

I specialize in counseling adults of diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds living with unaddressed childhood trauma and abandonment. Common concerns I attend to include: trauma and stressor related disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, anger management, toxic relationship recovery, and life/work imbalance. I pride myself on providing genuine care and support for my clients as they heal from past wounds, pursue their best life in the present and cultivate hope for a better future.

I thoroughly enjoy creating a safe, non-judgmental and nurturing space for each of my clients, especially those who are new to therapy. In regard to the therapeutic process, I take an eclectic approach. I maintain a compassionate and client-centered stance in sessions to encourage my clients to achieve authentic self-actualization. Moreover, I utilize cognitive behavioral theory and techniques with my clients to explore and modify how their attitudes, beliefs, and thoughts affect their feelings and behaviors.

In addition, I offer faith-based counseling for my spiritual and/or religious clients, to help them explore how their belief systems contribute to their concerns and how they can contribute to a more fulfilling life. Also, I implement expressive arts techniques with my creative clients during our sessions, to help them discover enhanced insight and meaning. As we collaborate in therapy, my clients learn and implement skills and strategies that allow them to possibly improve their mood, decrease undesirable behaviors, improve their relationships and more.

I earned my Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University’s CACREP accredited program. I have prior experience working in outpatient settings as well as highly acute inpatient settings as a supervisee. I am certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors and by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists.
