I work with adults whose goal is to heal from the psychological and emotional effects of personal & intergenerational traumas, minority related trauma or stress, as well as LGBTQIA and Non-Monogamous identity or relationship stressors. Their ideal goals would be to better manage emotional triggers due to past traumas, LGBTQIA related issues and Non-Monogamous relationship stressors. The objective would be to develop the insight, self-confidence, and concrete skills to shift from feelings of shame, guilt, anger or resentment to feelings of empowerment, affirmation, self-love and confidence to build healthier relationships.
I use an integration of treatment models that are trauma informed, behaviorally activating and relational such as, EMDR, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT, Relational Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gottman Therapy and Family Systems Therapy in addition to the use of Mindfulness techniques for mood stabilization.
I aim to empower clients to achieve mental wellness by providing therapy through a multi-cultural, strength based and feminist perspective. My style is warm and collaborative in helping clients build a safe therapeutic experience that is inclusive, identity affirming and validating of their experiences and their need for healing and emotional wellness.
