Amelia Flynn is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the New York City Metro area. Amelia Flynn believes deeply in collaboration with clients to strengthen and promote self-compassion, vulnerability and courage, and evolving awareness. Her culturally humble approach recognizes that each individual is a collection of context and culture that is welcomed and encouraged in the therapeutic environment. Her primary areas of expertise are premarital counseling, multiracial families and couples, emerging adulthood including managing anxiety and depression, and parenting skills.
Amelia is also currently a Doctoral Candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch University New England where she was awarded the 2018-2019 President’s Doctoral Fellowship. Her primary research focus is the father-daughter relationship in Black families. Amelia is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices, advocating for systemic equity, and pushing the Black clinician collective forward.
