It is my belief that individuals desire and require validation and recognition in the midst of challenges. Without these factors, life can feel monotonous, confusing, and lonesome. Change can seem impossible when experiencing stress, depression, and being submerged in life’s many challenges. By engaging in therapy, change is tangible. This process can unlock your deeper truths concerning life, present opportunities to learn yourself, and really discover your life’s story. In my work, I focus on centering Black womxn, men, adolescents, and POC who may be burdened by challenges related to depression, anxiety, relationship stress, intergenerational trauma, and racial and gender-based microaggressions.
My goal as a therapist is to work in collaboration with individuals to gain clarity, increase self-awareness, and ultimately heal, so you can be your best self and live the life you want to live. My approach is non-judgemental, client-centered, and compassionate. I seek to utilize both evidenced-based techniques and cultural competence to foster a nurturing environment where we can collaborate on working towards your goals. I enjoy working through intersectional and oppression-based-lens, exploring the contributions of race, class, age, gender and sexuality to the development of self, career, and relationships. My collaborative approach incorporates elements of trauma-informed care, psychodynamic techniques, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I strongly believe in the healing and transformative power of therapy and it is an honor to connect with individuals in the therapeutic process of growth and self-discovery. I’m excited and ready to join you on your journey!
