I am a mixed race (black and white) clinician and feel this gives me a unique perspective to mental health. 2020 proved to be mentally, emotionally, and at times physically exhausting. Our collective racial trauma feels like it has been magnified and the weight is heavy, but I see you and stand beside you.
Life is full of ups and downs and mental health is one of those things that can keep us feeling great or wanting to crawl into a hole. Sometimes we need validation and to feel seen, sometimes we need to vent and have someone listen, sometimes we need practical tips and tricks to move forward. I’m passionate about meeting you where you’re at and providing the support you need. You are the author of your story and we will work together on the edits you’d like to make.
I believe every person is unique and this requires a therapeutic approach specific to everyone I see. I believe we are the experts of our own lives which is why I choose to take a person-centered approach to healing and change. A successful therapeutic relationship emphasizes trust, safety, acceptance, empathy and understanding.
I’d love nothing more than to have the opportunity to work with you. It’s so important that clients and clinician are able to develop rapport and trust in order to get the most out of counseling. That is why I offer free consultations before asking for a commitment. I look forward to meeting you and ensuring you are not alone on this journey!
