Alisia Mitchell moved from North Carolina to Maryland to attain a master’s degree in Social Work at Howard University and become a licensed clinical therapist. Alisia has been providing individual and family therapeutic services with a specific area of interest on Black/African American and Hispanic families since 2016. With the completion of Level I training of Theraplay (February,2019) and becoming a Registered Play Therapist (March, 2020), Alisia utilizes these evidence based practices to support Client's of interest. Outside of the office setting, Alisia facilitates webinars on Play therapy and social skills groups for children and adolescents. Alisia is also a co-author of the book, "Increasing Your Therapy Toolbox: A Collection of Play Therapy and Expressive Arts Interventions." With an overwhelming desire of supporting children to believe, feel capable, and trust in themselves, Alisia’s personal vision is, “Every child will have an opportunity to voice their life story in a safe environment, and be heard.”
