There is a time and a place for everything. I believe that flexibility and adaptability is necessary when working in therapeutic settings with different groups of people.

Sometimes, a client might need motivation, while another just needs to sit with their thoughts, and be heard. I pride myself in learning, growing, and understanding relationships to build the trust necessary to make progress. There is a time and a place for everything. I believe that flexibility and adaptability is necessary when working in therapeutic settings with different groups of people. Regardless of the situation, having an individual you have built a trusting relationship with, in a safe environment, will always feel better than bottling your feelings.

I believe that it is important to understand the relationship with your reactions to certain aspects in your life. By putting importance and emphasis on your thoughts & beliefs, I am better able to help you understand why you react in certain ways while influencing changes.

My specialties include working with women, families, youth, the Queer community, and couples. I am also sex worker allied, kink allied, and specialize in non-monogamous relationships. As a woman of color, I specialize in working with clients who consistently must prove themselves and voice their frustrations, while working to advocate and influence social change in majority white patriarchal spaces. I tend to gravitate towards populations consisting of youth or individuals in under-resourced populations. Recognizing this, I was able to be flexible in my approaches to best work these specific populations. I base my approach on relationships: with yourself, with your community, with your family, and with your partners.

Families can be a very difficult topic to speak about, especially as a POC. Therapy was always seen as a taboo solution to family issues, especially when we have been conditioned to believe that mental health issues can be prayed away, and what happens in the family, stays in the family. It can be a difficult decision to go into therapy and speak about the concerns and issues without feeling as though you are betraying them or "spilling all the tea." But it is also important that you, as a member of the family, can seek out and receive the professional assistance to address concerns that may be a cause of some of the stress and trauma you are experiencing. The first step in healing generational trauma is recognizing that it is present.

It is also important to understand that you have complete control of your life's decisions. By allowing you to be the change you would like to see, I help guide determined clients through the process by supporting their steps and influencing structure for the plan of action that can work best for them.

I can cater to your needs and allow you the time and space to make mistakes, while still being empathetic in your process. As a clinician, I am dedicated to helping you learn something new about yourself at the end of each session.
