Description
I have a private practice in South Berkeley where I work to support teens, and adults. I am certified in EMDR, which I use to work with issues including trauma, addictions, complex grief, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions of all sorts. EMDR is a brief therapy technique developed for the treatment of trauma, and useful in any circumstance where a client's thoughts and emotions are inconsistent, or in conflict with each other. I also practice neurofeedback, a way of training the brain to better self-regulate, and to function optimally. I've found that with issues like anxiety, depression, eating disorders, developmental trauma, motivation etc. neurofeedback allows clients' nervous systems to quickly settle, which creates more comfort and resilience for therapy. In my mind, therapy is a relationship we co-create specifically to suit your needs, and situation. I create an environment designed to help you feel safe, heard, and respected. I have a relational style, meaning you will receive feedback from me, and will never feel like you are talking to a blank wall.
