>> Is anxiety, self-doubt, or negative self-talk holding you back from living the life you envisioned for yourself?
>> Are you able to give compassion, love, and kindness to others, but struggle with feeling that you deserve the same?
>> Do you wish you felt happier and more fulfilled with yourself or your life?
>> Do you seek a safe, nonjudgmental space to make sense of the challenging times in which we live?

Therapy can help you with these and other concerns. Life can be stressful, confusing, and anxiety-producing and sometimes we just can’t manage on our own. It’s wonderful that you’ve taken this first step toward feeling better!

As a biracial therapist, I have a unique--and personal--perspective on multicultural issues. I understand what it feels like to straddle two worlds, to not belong or question where you fit in, and to feel misunderstood or invisible. I support my clients by offering a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk about your struggles and find relief from suffering. You are not alone!

I specialize in working with clients of color; particularly those who identify as mixed-race/biracial and clients in interracial families and/or relationships. Using the mind-body connection and mindfulness-based techniques I can help you work on a variety of issues, including improving self-compassion and self-esteem, reducing day-to-day feelings of distress (anxiety, stress, sadness, etc.), and identity issues (racial, sexual orientation, gender). I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or 'tapping' therapy and can incorporate this into our work together. EFT is a form of energy therapy that can help you find relief from emotional distress and/or physical pain.

Finding the right connection between you and your therapist can be one of the most important aspects to successful therapy. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working together to help you move through the anxious, stressed, unhappy place and uncover the more centered, authentic version of yourself that resides within. I firmly believe that each person is unique and deserves a tailored approach to their therapy. I strive to provide the time and attention that allows for greater connection, insight, and growth for each of my clients.

Although life can be overwhelming, it doesn't have to stay this way! I invite you to visit my website or email me (amosestherapy@gmail.com) to discuss the possibility of us working together.

Please note that I do not accept insurance, however I can provide you with a "superbill" that would potentially allow you to be reimbursed for part or all of the session fee through your health insurance, depending on your out-of-network benefits.
