Alexis Santiago-Autar serves as the Clinical Director at the Counseling Center Group of New York, where she leads with a wealth of experience spanning 15 years in delivering clinical services to children and families. Her therapeutic philosophy revolves around establishing a nurturing and non-judgmental space that fosters cognitive and behavioral transformation.

Alexis has undergone extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) under the guidance of Behavioral Tech, encompassing both the standard DBT approach and the tailored version for children (DBT-C). Beyond her proficiency in DBT, she possesses training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Prolonged Exposure. Her expertise resonates particularly with individuals, including children and adults, who have undergone traumatic experiences.

With over a decade of involvement in the child welfare sector, Alexis has engaged closely with diverse forms of trauma, ranging from sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse to the dire issues of child sex trafficking and exploitation. She has skillfully integrated DBT techniques into five distinct child welfare programs. Before immersing herself in child welfare, Alexis provided essential addiction counseling to both adolescents and adults.

Alexis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from Union College, and she pursued her Master's degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Beyond her professional roles, she actively contributes as an adjunct professor at Fordham University and SUNY Stony Brook, imparting her expertise through teaching courses on clinical subjects such as CBT, Trauma, Suicide Assessment and Prevention, and Child and Adolescent Development. Alexis further extends her influence as a trainer at both institutions, enlightening licensed professionals about diverse diagnoses and treatment approaches. Additionally, she lends her consultancy to a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting children and adolescents who have been victims of sex trafficking and exploitation.

Alexis's personal life finds her residing in the suburban vicinity of NYC, where she raises her two children and prioritizes cherished moments with her family.
