Alexis Long-Daniels is currently an Associate Licensed Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor, Certified Trauma Professional, and Certified Telemental Health Provider -Associate. She graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Journalism and she graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Health Education and Health Promotion. Alexis has experience working in inpatient hospital facilities , long term residential facilities, substance abuse treatment facilities and outpatient private practice. She offers group and individual therapy with children, adults, and families. She specializes in areas including: trauma, anxiety, suicidal ideations, life adjustment, peer relationships, substance abuse, ADHD, ODD, general behavioral problems, stress management, parenting, and self-esteem. Her therapeutic orientation of choice is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but she also utilizes Art, Play, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma therapy.
Alexis’ desire for her clients is for them to have a judgment free space where they can feel at ease and comfortable while learning to cope with day to day life. She desires for clients to come into session with an open mind and preparedness to do the work to conquer their greatest issues. Her ultimate goal is for clients to learn the skills they need in therapy so that they can go out and confidently impact the world in a positive way by being their best selves.
