Empowering Individuals to Rise Up and Embrace Their Authentic Selves

I am Alanna Boyd, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 16 years of experience, and I am passionate about helping individuals from marginalized communities—including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled individuals—navigate life’s challenges. My practice, Rise Up Counseling, is built on the belief that we all have the capacity to rise up and discover new, resilient versions of ourselves, even in the face of adversity.

Specialties:
Anxiety & Depression
Trauma & PTSD
Grief and Loss
Shame Resilience & Self-Compassion
Relationship Issues
Family of Origin Trauma
Disability Adjustment Counseling
Therapy Approach:
I utilize a combination of evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I work collaboratively with my clients, helping them gain insight into their struggles, build healthier boundaries, and improve communication. My goal is to create a space where clients can feel empowered, certain, and able to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Who I Work With:
I specialize in working with individuals from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled communities, as well as those experiencing significant life transitions or trauma. Having experienced my own journey with disability, I have a deep understanding of the challenges that come with navigating marginalized identities, and I am committed to helping others embrace their authentic selves.

My Philosophy:
I believe that healing is a process that takes time, patience, and self-compassion. Whether you’re facing anxiety, trauma, grief, or relationship issues, my approach is to meet you where you are and help you rise to where you want to be. We all have the capacity for growth, and sometimes, we just need the right support to discover it.
