Description
Are you the daughter who learned to love everyone but yourself?
You're incredibly good at sensing what others need, managing their feelings, and making sure everyone else is okay. But when it comes to your own needs? They feel selfish. Unimportant. Like too much.
If you grew up as the responsible one, the family caregiver, the emotional glue holding everyone together, you learned early that your worth came from what you did for others—not from simply existing.
And now, even as an adult, you can't shake the guilt when you try to prioritize yourself. You struggle with boundaries. You feel responsible for everyone's emotions. You know intellectually that you matter, but you don't feel it—and that gap is exhausting.
I specialize in helping women from complex families break these generational patterns and develop authentic self-love.
You might be my client if you:
💜 Struggle with self-criticism and that inner voice that's never satisfied
💜 Feel crushing guilt when you set boundaries or prioritize yourself
💜 Were the family caregiver and don't know how to care for yourself
💜 Want to break generational patterns but feel overwhelmed by where to start
💜 Know you "should" love yourself but have no idea what that actually looks like
In our work together, you'll learn to:
✅ Understand how your family system shaped your sense of worth
✅ Break free from the "caregiver," "fixer," or "responsible one" role
✅ Set boundaries without the crushing guilt
✅ Turn toward yourself with the same care you've always shown others
✅ Interrupt patterns before they're passed to the next generation
I'm a Black woman and daughter of Trinidadian immigrants, so I deeply understand the cultural pressures that shape how women of color relate to family, duty, and self. But my practice welcomes all women from complex families ready to reclaim their lives and learn that they matter—not because of what they do for others, but simply because they exist.
Through generational growth therapy—an integration of family systems therapy, attachment theory, and self-compassion practices—we'll work together to heal the patterns you inherited and create the self-love that was never modeled for you.
