Adia Terry-Puryear, LCSW graduated with a master's degree in social work from Rutgers University in 2014. A year later, Adia began working as a therapist for a community mental health clinic located in Newark, NJ. In 2018, she was promoted to Lead Mental Health Clinician and worked closely with the director of the department. While employed at the facility, Adia gained valuable experience treating clients with complex trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. She also counseled individuals through relationship conflict and helped those navigate through phase of life challenges.
In 2020, when times were difficult and there was ample time for self-reflection, Adia developed the idea to create her business " A Peace of Mind and Heart Counseling Services, LLC. " In August of 2021, she decided that it was time to transition to private practice full-time. Adia is grateful for the experience that she gained over the past six years. She is confident in her clinical abilities, and well prepared to provide exceptional quality care to those that she serves.
