Being a student can be challenging. "Adulting" while being a student can be too. Being an adult while unlearning behaviors that compromise your present peace, in addition to parenting, relationships, and work it can become challenging as well.

You may find yourself experiencing situations, thoughts and feelings that sometimes you need help navigating. Maybe you are challenged with setting boundaries, saying "no", getting organized, finding motivation, focusing, or finding a balance between taking care of yourself and other responsibilities. Maybe you are so use to being independent, that you find it hard to trust anyone else.

Whether you are a student, in college, parent, or an adult with a career or in pursuit of one, doing this alone can often result in feeling overwhelmed, unfocused, or out of control. It can lead to isolating and avoidance of feelings, responsibilities, and/or people. You are not alone.

I empathize with the experience of being a student, because I have lived my own version of it as a first generation college student who discovered therapy while in college. I empathize with being a Millennial adult, Mother, Wife, and Entrepreneur because I live it daily.

In my 8+ years as a counselor, I have helped countless students and young adults (18-55+), across different backgrounds and programs, work through a range of areas, including trauma, anxiety, substance use issues, depression, transition, relationship trauma, and career challenges I have supported them in making positive, lasting change.

When you work with me, you can expect safety , consistency, a solution-oriented, and personable approach, focused on your individual challenges and aims. I have a Masters in Social Work from NC State, and use a range of techniques in my sessions including CBT, DBT, TFCBT and MET.

Personally, I enjoy being by water, karaoke, & hiking, I am married and have 1 child (toddler). I look forward to working with you and helping your grow wherever you are planted!
