Description

I’m a queer Black neurodivergent woman who really looks forward to getting to know you. I understand how daunting it can be to start therapy, whether it’s for the first time ever or just for the first time with a new therapist. I also understand how harmful this field can be to people who look and identify the way that I and other marginalized folks do. And I’m constantly learning and unlearning, especially around areas of privilege that I hold, so that I can better show up for people like you. I practice therapy that’s culturally-celebratory, trauma-informed, collaborative, and liberating. I also think it can be really fun! Whatever it is will be specific to you, with your consent, and at your pace.

In our work together, I won’t tell you who you are or presume that I know best. I’ll be curious about you and invite you to be curious about yourself. I’ll listen to your stories, mix in some context, and push back on the parts that aren’t serving you. I’ll laugh at your jokes, hold space for your tears, and celebrate wins of all sizes. I’ll help you get out of your head and into your body, question yourself less and the systems affecting you more, and connect safely with others instead of trying to heal alone. I’ll show up in sessions as myself and hope to create a safe-enough space where you can do the same. I work mostly with Black people, non-Black people of color, queer folks, trans and nonbinary folks, survivors of sexual assault, and people who work in entertainment. And if you resonate or identify with any of this, I hope to work with you too.
