Description

In my role as a counselor, I am a warm, empathetic presence to my clients, helping them unlock the wisdom and knowledge that lies within them. I utilize a trauma informed feminist, existential, and liberation psychology lens. In sessions, this shows up as me taking into account and honoring all identities. We then work together to identify needs and goals in treatment to help explore and heal from negative life experiences, such as trauma, abuse, and state and interpersonal violence. As a counselor, it would be an honor to accompany you on your healing journey.

I welcome all identities into the counseling space such as race, gender, sexuality, socio-economic status, ethnicity, and immigration status, knowing that oppression as a result of these identities can be harmful to our mental health. As a Black, autistic, non-binary lesbian, I know firsthand how impactful these systems of oppression can be. That’s why my work with clients centers around finding joy and resistance outside of white supremacist, cis and heteronormative, and neuronormative ways of being, helping my clients curate a life where they thrive in community and can strive towards a life worth living.

Before pursuing a career as a mental health counselor, I was a community organizer and student researcher and spent my time organizing campaigns and protests to support labor unions and designing research projects to promote restorative story telling as a tool for liberation in Central America. In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, singing, and writing poetry.
