Addiction Recovery Group (Adults 18+)
A trauma-informed, skills-based therapy group for adults seeking recovery from substance use and/or compulsive behaviors (e.g., alcohol, cannabis, opioids, stimulants, gambling, pornography, gaming). The group provides a confidential, nonjudgmental space to strengthen motivation, reduce harm, and build sustainable recovery. Sessions integrate evidence-based approaches—Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, relapse-prevention planning, mindfulness, and brief somatic/sound-based regulation—to address triggers, craving cycles, underlying emotions, and core beliefs that maintain addictive patterns. Participants practice practical tools (urge surfing, emotion regulation, boundary-setting, healthy routine design, and communication skills), set weekly goals, and receive structured peer support. Appropriate as a primary intervention or as an adjunct to individual therapy, medication-assisted treatment, and community recovery programs. Meets weekly for [90] minutes over [8–12] weeks; closed after week two to support cohesion. Expectations: consistent attendance, confidentiality, and mutual respect. Anticipated outcomes include increased self-efficacy, reduced symptom severity, improved coping capacity, and an expanded sober support network.
