Description
👩🏾🦱 As a neurodivergent therapist for Gen Z and Millennials, I love working with Black women, nonbinary femmes, and girls ages 15+. As a Black woman with similar identities, I know too well the pressures that come with navigating the world as a marginalized, high-achieving, high-masking person. I feel most alive when working with clients who hold these identities and are navigating issues of anxiety, self-esteem and self-discovery, and Former Gifted Kid / Corporate Baddie / Girl Boss Burnout. I use a combination of formal modalities (e.g. Psychodynamic therapy, ACT, CBT) and also incorporate other resources such as books, podcasts, mindfulness activities, and music in my work.
📚 I have training in Trauma-Informed Practice, Black Diasporic Social Work, and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in schools, startups, government offices, and non-profit organizations. I am often described as warm, authentic, and naturally curious. In working with clients, I want them to know, “Your needs are welcome here. You don’t need to have all the answers.”
🎓 I'm a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Illinois and a Limited License Master Social Worker (LLMSW) in Michigan.
