Licensed Mental Health Counselor in FL and GA

Hi Family, I have one simple question: HOW YOU DOIN?!

How's life treating you? Are you meditating? You getting enough sleep? Skipping meals? Too much coffee? Spending time with family and loved ones? Taking breaks at work, or powering through? Maintaining healthy boundaries or sacrificing yourself to please others? Hey: did you see the sun this week?

As human beings, we may grapple with concerns related to our thinking, emotions, and behavior. Maybe you've hit a wall and feel stuck in an endless pattern. Maybe you've experienced a traumatic event and need help with processing. Or maybe you've had ongoing depression or anxiety for most of your life, and yeah, you "function" - but you also know: LIFE COULD BE SO MUCH BETTER.

I work with clients who are motivated and willing to explore how their patterns have impacted their mental health, and are ready to do something different. My style is relaxed, intuitive, and I meet everyone where they're at to develop a plan to reclaim their lives. My practice uses CBT & DBT skills so that you can learn the tools you need in session, then go practice in your day-to-day life. More than anything, I help people to find more effective ways of coping with their reality and get back on track.

I hope to talk with you further about how you can commit to your personal wellness journey. I love this work, and consider it my honor and privilege to walk with you and bear witness to your transformation. Whenever you're ready, we can get started, so let's GO!!

Please note: As a clinician and a healer, I feel that it's my duty to provide a safe space for all (especially Black women!) during these times as much as I am able, and I hope you will join me on this journey.

Group Therapy Details

I offer regular outpatient (1-2x weekly) therapy, and a weekly DBT skills group. DBT skills include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Learning these skills in a group setting can enhance your treatment and allow you the opportunity to practice these skills in your daily life in between sessions. Being an intensive outpatient, our program can provide additional support that you need if going through a crisis, and our evening hours make it so that you won't have to miss work or other obligations during the day.

I will soon be starting a women's psychotherapy group that will cover self-care in the midst of current events, skills to manage crisis and tolerate distress, as well as changing family patterns and healing from generational trauma. This is in response to an outpouring of interest for targeted therapy services for women of the African Diaspora. I'm excited to watch this group grow!

I use a person-centered approach, helping my clients first identify their goals, and then build the skills necessary to live the life they want and deserve! I am passionate about this work and feel such an honor to bear witness to the transformation and growth of all my clients. I always say: you're doing the work, I just facilitate it. I respect and admire anyone who demonstrates commitment and willingness to this work, because I know: it's not easy! It may not be easy, it may not be fun - but it's all good. I hope you'll choose yourself and embrace the journey of wellness with me!
