A Little About Me

Hello ladies, my name is Shavon Warrick, known to many as “Dr. Love.” I am a therapist, author, and the founder of Elevating Minds Wellness Center and Pretty Guryl Books. As a Christian-based therapist, life coach, and mentor with over 25 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to supporting girls, teens, and women as they navigate life’s challenges and discover their strength and purpose.

Many people know me as Dr. Love, a name that reflects my passion for helping women heal emotionally, grow spiritually, and make wiser decisions in love and life. Through my Dr. Love platform and my new YouTube channel, I will be sharing guidance on relationships, recognizing red flags, and emotional healing.

My life’s work has been devoted to helping women become the best versions of themselves. I understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you're carrying stress, relationship challenges, or emotional pain that others may not fully understand. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to process what you're going through, gain clarity, and begin moving toward healing, growth, and the life you truly desire.

I specialize in helping clients work through self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, anger management, divorce, and relationship challenges. My goal is to ensure that every client feels seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey.

Many clients describe our sessions as insightful, empowering, and uplifting, similar to talking with a wise and trusted friend who offers honest guidance while helping them discover their own strength.

My Approach

I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. These methods help clients identify unhealthy thinking patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and build on their strengths to overcome life’s challenges. My approach also integrates compassion, practical guidance, and faith-centered encouragement to support emotional and spiritual growth.

What You Can Expect

Sessions are supportive, comfortable, and judgment-free. Together we will identify goals, develop practical strategies for growth, and work toward creating the clarity, confidence, and emotional well-being you deserve.

During the first session, we will talk about the experiences that brought you to therapy and begin identifying the goals you would like to achieve. It is completely normal to feel nervous, but my goal is to ensure that you feel comfortable, supported, and confident that you are in a safe space to grow and heal.
