Description
Leah S. Taylor is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida.
With a B.S in Psychology and Human Services, she started her career as a social worker helping clients living in homeless shelters battling dual diagnoses. Leah would come to realize that she loved working with clients with the focus on mental health therapy vs social work.
She would later move to Orlando FL, where she would attain her Masters in Clinical Psychology and Counseling. Since then, Leah has a plethora of experience working with various populations in multiple settings including a School, Rehab and a couple of Psychiatric hospitals. Her experience with in-patient and outpatient agencies has allowed her to help clients overcome struggles with issues such as Substance use, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship issues, LGBTQ, Ethical Non-Monogamy/lifestyle concerns, Homelessness, Bipolar disorder, Personality disorders, and Trauma including sexual, emotional and physical abuse. Leah’s upbringing as the child of an immigrant Caribbean mother, and experience growing up in Brooklyn, NY gives her a unique perspective on the counseling experience, allowing her to connect with clients of all backgrounds and experiences judgment free.
Leah’s Counseling style is client-centered with the utilization of CBT, DBT, Psycho-educational, and Psychodynamic therapy. She believes we are all unique individuals living through different experiences.
Her goal at Serenity Peace and Love counseling is to help you navigate through the darkness so you can live the life you want, acquiring the coping skills and tools needed along the way.
