Description

Aaliyah Muhammad is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Board Approved Clinical Supervisor (LCSW-BACS) in Louisiana, a LCSW in Texas, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington, DC, and the founder of Healing ROOTs Therapy Center. With over 15 years in social work and nearly five years in private practice, she helps individuals uncover the patterns, beliefs, and wounds that keep them stuck—so they can heal deeply and live more peaceably. These are our ROOTs (Routes of Ongoing Transformations).

She holds space for navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, spiritual disconnection, identity exploration, and life transitions. Her clinical work is rooted in evidence-based, trauma-informed care with a spiritual foundation. She uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS) to help clients process painful memories and restore inner balance. These approaches help access and heal the younger, wounded parts of ourselves that often hold onto fear, shame, or survival strategies long after they’re needed.

Aaliyah also integrates somatic awareness, mindfulness, and biblical wisdom—meeting each client where they are. For those seeking a faith-based approach, she offers therapy that honors both psychological understanding and the truths found in Scripture.

At the core of her practice is the belief that healing is not only possible...it's promised. As the Bible says in Jeremiah 30:17, “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord.” That restoration is not just physical, but emotional, spiritual, and generational.

Aaliyah works with clients to uproot what no longer serves them and helps them replant truths that bring peace, alignment, and transformation. Healing is more than symptom relief—it’s soul restoration. At Healing ROOTs, we create space for you to slow down, breathe, and listen to what your mind, body, and spirit are trying to say.

She does not believe her role is to fix you, but rather to walk with you, reflect truth back to you, and help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have longed to be seen, nurtured, and healed.Whether you’re processing trauma, realigning with your faith, or rediscovering who you are—you are welcome to begin regrowing and nurturing your roots here.
