Description
You are the caretaker, problem solver, strong friend, the person that no one seems to notice is overwhelmed. Many of the Black women I work with are used to being “the only one” in the spaces they occupy, carrying the pressure to perform, “play the game”, and stay calm, even when they are exhausted or overwhelmed. You may feel alone in your frustrations, unsure of how and where you can safely let your shoulders down. My goal is to offer a soft landing that prioritizes your needs and creates space for rest, awareness, and more supportive connections.
I work with Black women navigating anxiety, attachment concerns, and complex trauma through a collaborative, trauma-informed approach. I can hold space for the anger, frustration, and self-criticism that may come along with challenging old patterns and prioritizing yourself and your needs. Together, we can gently explore what has felt hidden or barred, with the intention of building greater emotional regulation, and self-trust.
I often use EMDR to help clients better understand negative thinking patterns, build emotional regulation, and gain a new sense of safety within themselves and their relationships. I offer both in-person sessions in a calmly lit office space and virtual therapy, with availability during typical weekday business hours. My practice is private-pay, and I’m happy to discuss my availability and approach before scheduling. I look forward to meeting you!
