Description
I mostly work with Black women who are used to being the strong one. You may be a high achiever, caregiver, leader, or the dependable daughter in your family. You know how to hold things together, show up for others, and keep going. But the cost may be catching up with you. You may feel exhausted, emotionally burdened, disconnected from yourself, or like there is very little room for you inside the life you have built.
Many clients come to therapy carrying grief, burnout, relationship pain, family pressure, identity shifts, or the weight of always being the one others rely on. Some are navigating trauma or old emotional wounds. Some are moving through motherhood or fertility-related pain. Others simply know they do not want to keep living in survival mode, even if their life looks fine from the outside.
Therapy with me is a space where you do not have to perform strength. Together, we make sense of what you have been carrying through personal, relational, generational, and systemic lenses. My style is warm, grounded, and honest. I help clients process grief and trauma, change long-standing patterns, and build a more nourishing relationship with themselves. My approach is tailored to each client and may integrate grief therapy, trauma therapy, mindfulness or EMDR when appropriate.
I am based in Northern Virginia and offer telepsychology across participating PSYPACT states.
