Description
I have been working in the behavioral health field for 20+ years. Out of those 20+ years, in the first 5 years I provided direct care to those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. The next 6 years consisted of providing community-based services to adults diagnosed with Major Depression, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia. Following that, I spent 2 years working on inpatient adult psychiatric units. Afterward, I spent 11 years providing indirect care by coordinating inpatient behavioral health admissions. Since 2021, I’ve been working as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor providing telehealth services in Missouri.
While in my master's program, during my practicum I had the opportunity to work with pediatrics and adolescents diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder, Mood Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, and Major Depression in an outpatient setting. In addition to that, my internship gave me the opportunity to work with substance use disorders. I worked with adults diagnosed with Co-Occurring Disorders in an outpatient setting.
I earned a BA in Psychology from Saint Louis University and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist in 2020. Currently, I provide counseling services to adults as well as work in case management for behavioral health services. While working with clients, I rely on techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Using a variety of techniques during the sessions allows me to help clients navigate their paths to a better quality of life.
